I custom di Stormavik Red Bunker

Girovagando per internet, mi sono imbattuto in questo bravo customizzatore di action figures:

http://www.geocities.com/calvinnason/SRB_Index.html

Le sue creazioni potrebbero ispirare gli artisti del custom o, comunque, suscitare interesse negli appassionati. Date un' occhiata !

Parts Used:
Main Chassis: 1985 A.W.E. Striker V1, styrene sheet plastic.
Gunner's Seat: 1987 Dreadnok Cycle V1, 1985 A.W.E. Striker V1 roll cage.
Stowage& Weapons: BBi MK19 and ammo can, BBi .50 Cal M-2 Machine Gun and ammo can, 1982 V.A.M.P gas can rack, BBI AT-4, 21st Century axe and shovel.
Roll Bar: 1987 Battle Force 2000 Dominator roll bar

Inspiration for Custom: The A.W.E Striker was one of my favorite toys as a child. I loved the fact that it looked fast and had working steering and suspension. Later on in live I realized that the A.W.E. Striker was actually based on a real life vehicle used by U.S. Special Forces called the Fast Attack Vehicle. The real one had none of short comings of the Hasbro version. It had multiple weapon systems, not a one shot TOW based weapon. The real vehicle also had a place for a gunner, something that would be necessary if I was going to make a version with several weapons. Sometime later in my military career I met some Soldiers that were attached to a unit that operated with H.M.M.W.V.s, they were designated as a "hunter-killer" unit. These Soldiers used the faster and more nimble Hummers with TOW weapon systems to take out tanks through ambush and retreat tactics. This was a perfect fit for what I wanted in the Striker II. I believe I fixed the flaws of the original A.W.E. Striker with my custom Striker II.

Custom Notes: The A.W.E Striker V1 from 1985 was chosen as the base vehicle because it was cheaper to get a stripped down on eBay than it was to buy the 25th Anniversary one available at retail. I decided that the Striker II need to have multiple weapon systems on board, and that they needed to be interchangeable. I made the open space between the roll bars on the roof solid with sheet plastic so that I could have a place to mount the weapons when in use. I then used the mounts that came with the weapons to attach them to their respective bipods and added them to the roof. I also added the stowage rack from the BBi Navy Seal tactical vehicle AT4 rack.. I added the Dreadnok Cycle V1 seat as the gunner's seat. I used pieces of the A.W.E. Striker V1 roll cage to support the back of it. I added a piece of square styrene to the back of the seats on the A.W.E. Striker V1. The gunner's seat is attached to the removable engine cover and latches solidly on the Striker II. I added the 1982 V.A.M.P. V1 gas can rack to hold the back pack or other gear for the gunner. I aslo drilled a hole on the left side of the seat to mount the MK-19 to the gunner's seat when not in use. I also added a rack for the M-2 .50 Cal. to the right side so it could be stored when not in use. I chose the MK-19 as one weapon because it fires grenades and is automatic, in itself it would easily take out many wooden or brick structures. I chose the M-2 .50 Cal because it would easily take out any personnel or light armored vehicles like a H.M.M.W.V. I also added the AT-4 to take out tanks. The MK-19 ammo can is stored on the left side of the vehicle when not in use and can be mounted on the left side of the roll cage when in use. I added a place to mount the .50 Cal ammo can to the right side of the vehicle and it can be mounted to the .50 Cal when in use. I added the shovel and the axe as recovery tools to each side, the are not removable. I added a removable tire to the hood, this has a two fold purpose. The first purpose is obviously as a spare, the other is for protection of the operator and his passenger. I added a heavier brush guard to the front, but I wanted to keep the headlights. This was done by drilling two holes into the front of the A.W.E. Striker V1 nd mounting the Dominator roll bar. I finally pusehd the real wheels down through the bottom of the vehicle and glued them in place to give it a little more clearance and suspension. The color choices are tradional US Army colors and IKrylon Camo Green and Ultra Flat Black. I do plan to add decals in the future, but their absence is not a distraction.
